Ethan 16 weeks old

Ethan is in a really cute stage right now, (well, I guess when hasn’t he been :)) He has officially found his feet and can’t stop grabbing them.  His voice has gotten a lot louder and he has a lot to stay. I think he’s going to be quite the talker.

He is sleeping really well. His bedtime is 8:00 and he wakes up around 6:30. Usually when he wakes up he keeps himself entertained for awhile kicking his feet and cooing. He eats around 7:30 or 8:00.

He wants to suck on everything and puts 3 fingers in his mouth at a time. I have a feeling we are not far off from his first tooth as he is drooling like crazy too.

He loves bath time. While he’s in there he kicks and swings his arms.He still eats about 8oz of formula 4 x a day. Jarrod can’t wait to start feeding him real food. I’m going to wait until he  reaches the 6 month mark though.

Ethan’s still not in daycare officially but we have taken him twice. He’s also had a babysitter a couple of times and seems fine with both.

Ethan had his first spill 😦 Jarrod picked him up in his car seat and he fell out onto the stairs. I hadn’t strapped him in and the way the handle was positioned, when he grabbed the car seat it was vertical and Ethan slipped right out. He got a big fright but thankfully was not hurt.

I’m still struggling to lose my pregnancy weight. I feel like my stomach is shrinking a little bit though. I broke down today and bought 2 new pairs of jeans in a size up from what I normally wear. Hopefully they’ll be too big on me soon.

Life adjusting to work and mommy hood has been good so far. In a perfect world though I would work 4 days a week instead of 5.

Ethan 3 months old – Week 2

Things have been going great. Ethan is such a happy content baby. He’s been smiling and laughing like crazy. He’s recently found his feet, and the last couple of days he’s been grabbing them. He has also been sucking on his hands, 3 fingers at a time. If he could, he would have his whole fist in there.

I think he may be starting to teethe as he wants to eat everything and has been drooling a lot. He’s at the beginning stages of grabbing toys and playing with them. Today he grabbed a toy but got pretty frustrated trying to figure it out so we took it away. He has also been cooing a ton! If you coo or talk to him, he will coo for a good 20 minutes.

Ethan went on his first airplane the first weekend of May. It was a short flight, but he couldn’t have been more perfect. He slept through both flights, and didn’t make a peep. We went to San Francisco to visit Jarrod’s cousin. They have a 5 1/2 month old son, it was really cute to see the two boys together.

He’s a good sleeper. For the most part, he goes to bed at 8 and wakes up sometime around 6:30. We can get away with giving him his binky and having him fall back asleep until about 8. He takes a few naps throughout the day and is eating 3-4 8oz bottles.

He had a Dr’s appt. on May 2. He was just over 3 months old. He weighed 13 lbs 6 oz and was 24 inches long. His weight and height are average. He had 2 shots at his appt. He screamed like crazy when he got them, but soon settled down. The Dr. asked if I was willing to get more than 2 shots a month, and I told her no. I would rather be safe than sorry.

He went to a half day of daycare on Friday, it went great. They said he was very happy the whole time. He had his first babysitter last night too, that also went well.

Today is Mother’s day… My first one 🙂 It’s still hard to believe I’m a mom!
